The Four Year Update

So I wrote my previous (and first-ever) blog post when another President was in the White House, I had two fewer children, I lived in a different home, and my career was in its infancy. Not exactly the blogging consistency I was aiming for.

What I hoped would be a (systematically) creative outlet for me has turned out to be a protracted "stay tuned" signal. This is not likely to change any time soon, but rather than just yank this blog off of the Web entirely, I will leave it as an open door that I may someday walk through.

Before the resounding dead air resumes, I do owe you some kind of explanation for the last four years, because I actually have an excuse--a good excuse, surprisingly. Quite simply, my career as an independent financial adviser comes with a host of licenses and an even greater host of regulations to follow. Many of those regulations tell me what I can and cannot say in print or online, particularly on static pages that could be considered "advertising." In fact my LinkedIn and FaceBook profile pages are regulated as advertising, whether I mention my profession or not. So might a blog or a personal website I control. And frankly, I don't have the time or inclination to run every blog post or profile update through my compliance department.

So in case compliance ever finds this post, this is for them:
